Meet Leo

Aloha! My name is Leo, and I have been capturing special moments through the lens of my camera for over 10 years.

As a photographer, I understand the unique needs of couples who want to celebrate their love in an intimate and personal way. I am passionate about capturing the essence of your love story through images that are both romantic and authentic.

My portrait photography work is also an important part of our portfolio. Whether you are looking for a family portrait, a professional headshot, or a creative and artistic image, I am here to help you bring your vision to life.

My goal is to capture the essence of who you are and tell your unique story through beautiful images. I use a combination of technical skills and a creative eye to preserve moments that you will cherish for years to come.

Meet David

Aloha, nice to meet you! i grew up in Colombia, next to the Caribbean coast. Having a passion for photography since i was young, i focused on improving my skills doing portraits and shooting wildlife. My love for the ocean brought me to Hawaii in 2009, and made Maui my home away from home.

I try to stay active, and love shooting underwater also. Combining my love for diving, with my love for photography, i found a special connection with portraits and underwater photography.

Through the years i've been lucky enough to do multiple art shows showing my work in different countries. Shot multiple fashion campaigns, and corporate events. But my heart lies on capturing emotions and special moments through my journey. I've always been interested in showing how i see the world through my photography, and couldnt't be more excited to share it with you.

  Book with David. Just do it. I wish we could leave more than five stars because everything about our photography experience was THAT good. My husband and I did an underwater couples photoshoot when we were on our honeymoon in Maui. David was amazing through the whole process; booking, sharing ideas, everything! We are not experienced freedivers, but David was an incredible guide and made sure we stayed safe while having a lot of fun! He gave us really useful guidance to help us be comfortable in the water with different poses and even blew underwater rings for us to swim through! His patience and professionalism is just as incredible as his work. Of course, our photos turned out gorgeous. David has an amazing eye for composition, lighting, and getting the perfect shots. Magical is the first word that comes to mind when we think of his pictures. His view into the ocean’s world is full of personality and vibrance. If you are visiting Maui and want to have your special memories immortalized in the most spectacular way (and have a great time throughout!), book with David.   I contacted black rock photography to do a surprise proposal pictures. They help me to find out a great location and to create the plan a prepare everything accord to the occasion. The quality of the pictures and the professionalism of the photographers was a top notch service.

  We hired Black Rock Photography to photograph our small, intimate wedding at Red Sand Beach. David drove out to Hana to our Sunrise House rental to capture the memories from getting ready to the beach for the wedding. He was very pleasant to work with and the angles he captured of our special day were beautiful. The turn around time was very quick in getting the digital photos.   My husband and I hired Black Rock Photography to capture our wedding day. David was great!! We were drawn to his work because he seemed especially talented at capturing candid unstaged moments. He was really able to catch all the emotions and feelings of the day. We have been so happy with our wedding photos and have framed many of them.   I hired Black Rock Photography and purchased the Nui package for my family and am extremely happy with the photos David delivered. David quickly figured out a lot of our family dynamic and was able to capture nuances that are often lost in a posed setting. He chose a great location and although it was a cloudy day, the pictures were incredible. Honestly, I think I prefer what we now call “our” weather over a blazing sunny day.   We were looking for a professional photographer to take photos of our family while we all met in Maui. We found Black Rock photos and they were very helpful and quick to accommodate us in short notice. Our photographer Leo was very professional and made us feel very comfortable, we had a lot of fun!   David is an exceptional photographer and a true pleasure to work with!  He has that rare ability to really capture the essence of his subjects, *and* to do so unobtrusively.  I've absolutely loved the photos he's taken of all of my favorite people, and enjoy looking at them regularly.
